This program uses the power and the popularity of the game of football as a tool to address HIV and Sexual Reproductive Health amongst young people. The program creates simple, but powerful connections between football and life, and helps young people take small steps to achieve their goals, stay strong when faced with challenges, and protect themselves and others from HIV/AIDS. This program is divided into two:
Skillz Mabeste: Targeting young people of age groups 9-14 years.
Skillz Mtaani- Targeting young people of age group 15-22 years.
Kick N Test VCT Football Tournament: As a supplementary event for Skillz Kenya, the event provides a safe space for youth to play football while engaging trained HIV coaches to talk freely about issues of HIV and getting an opportunity to know their HIV status, receive counseling and referral services.
